Getting started and up to speed (part 1)

So I have always been not such a great blogger but I am hoping that this one motivates me to keep on top of  it. My daughter Miss S. was born with mild DDH and now at nearly 3 we are being told that she will require surgery to correct the issue that she has.

So lets start at the beginning. In August of 2009 Mr S and I learned that we were expecting our 1st child. In November we found out that our precious bundle was a little girl. She was pretty much a routine pregnancy with no real complications other than I developed Gestational Diabetes and was able to control my sugars via diet. In late April 2010 Miss S was born via c-section. Due to the projected large size my doctors felt it was best that she delivered that way to avoid complications due to being stuck in the birth canal. While we were still in the hospital our pediatrician checked Miss S over and heard/felt a hip clunk. Almost a week later while we were at her 1st check-up outside the hospital our pediatrician heard and felt this again so we were sent to see Dr. V. at Mott's Children's Hospital.

We went to see this pediatric orthopedist and she had a hard time upon examination feeling or hearing what our pediatrician felt but scheduled us to come back when Miss S. was 1 month old to have an ultrasound done on her hips to determine what our doctor was feeling.
